One of the most famous beaches in the town of Aghios Nikolaos is Kitroplatia. Located in the city and there you can find restaurants with excellent food and lodgings. The beach of EOT and this is in the city with sports facilities, water sports and swimming. Another beach in the center of Agios Nikolaos is the Sand, water sports, right next to the main shops in town! You can find and Amoudi beach, a small but organized sandy beach. There are some beaches that are just outside the town of Agios Nikolaos, such as the sandy beach Havania who meet on the road to Elounda approximately 2km outside the city. another important beach to visit is the beach of Almyros. Located 2 km from Agios Nikolaos to Kalo Chorio. It is a sandy beach with crystal clear water, well organized. There are many sources for this and Almiros is one of the most important wetlands in Greece. Covered with reeds and eucalyptus. Finally, there is Amoudara beach about 3 km from the town of Agios Nikolaos on the road to Kalo village. It is a small but very organized beach with crystal clear waters! It is worth noting that all of these beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag!

Plaka

is located about 16 km north of Agios Nikolaos, 5 km from Elounda. The beach is pebbly and the water crystal clear! The beach is sheltered from the wind and well organized (umbrellas, sea sports etc). Also offers natural shade and there are many trees. The area offers some of the best hotels in Crete, as well as restaurants, cafes and bar. The plate is considered the most beautiful beach in Elounda and gathers a lot of people every summer. It is worth to mention the beautiful views of the island of Spinalonga which you can see from the plate with small boats departing to and from the island every hour.

Kolokitha

Pumpkin Beach is located in Elounda, about 16 km from Agios Nikolaos. To reach the Pumpkin must enter the village of Elounda and head to the famous street in the salt marshes. Passing this path and after a steep dirt road, you end up in the church of St. Luke. Somewhere leave your car and proceed on foot. Further down you will see the beautiful beach of Pumpkin! Turquoise water and white sand make a heavenly and exotic scenery. On the beach there are trees to relax under the shade. Certainly the beach Pumpkin is one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete!

Agia Fotia

The beach of Agia Fotia located 47 km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and 12 km east of Ierapetra. This is a bay well protected from winds with many pine trees and olive trees on the beach for shade and relaxation. The water is clean and blue. There are umbrellas and sunbeds, and cafes, taverns and rented rooms for a comfortable stay. If you visit the Holy Fire do not forget to see and the surrounding area, and the Ahlia Makrigialos.
